CONNIE GUALIANO, founder & ceo
Connie founded PawsTime in 2008 after many years working in the human healthcare message-on-hold industry. She recognized that veterinary practices had a unique opportunity to use time on hold to educate pet owners and strengthen the connection between hospitals and the families they serve.
Today, Connie leads PawsTime while also overseeing sales and business development. Her vision continues to shape the company’s mission: helping veterinary practices communicate more effectively with clients while supporting the teams who care for their pets.
Connie is the heart of PawsTime, instilling a passion for exceptional customer service and a dedication to partnering with veterinary practices to help pets live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
Her commitment to the veterinary profession has led her to become a proud member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) and the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA).
A lifelong animal lover, Connie has always shared her home with pets. Today her fur family includes Axel, a yellow Lab, along with two cats, Jackie and Ollie.
When she takes a break from running PawsTime, Connie enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and walking her dog. An avid reader, she almost always has a book open or an Audible playing, with historical fiction, psychological thrillers, and mysteries topping her list.

ALEX JOSEPH, PRODUCTION Manager
Alex J. joined PawsTime in December 2019 and plays a key role in keeping the company’s production, technology, and communication running smoothly. As Production Manager, he provides backup for the studio, supports teams with Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology, oversees the scripting department and social media materials, and helps onboard new clients. He also produces PawsTime’s monthly Companion Email and coordinates weekly outreach campaigns.
Alex holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History from California State University, Fullerton. Known for his ability to bridge the gap between production, technology, and client support, he has become an important part of the PawsTime team and is working toward taking on greater leadership responsibilities as the company continues to grow.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys playing video games, reading, watching shows, and spending time with friends. He’s a big fan of Star Wars, comic books, and anime, and has a natural curiosity for learning that extends to a wide range of academic subjects.
Fun fact: Alex rescued a toothless cat named Oliver, who now confidently runs the household.

ALEXander PASZKIEWICZ, SCRIPTWRITING COORDINATOR
Alexander P. has been part of the PawsTime team since November 2021, helping bring client messages from concept to completion. As Script Coordinator, he works behind the scenes to keep communication flowing between scriptwriters, veterinary practices and the PawsTime team. His role ensures that every message stays clear, accurate and aligned with the voice of the individual practice.
What Alexander enjoys most about working with veterinary practices is helping transform important information into messages that clients can easily understand.
Alexander hopes that when clients interact with PawsTime they feel informed, reassured and confident.
When he’s not coordinating scripts, Alexander enjoys watching movies, playing video games and listening to music. While he doesn’t currently have a pet of his own, he happily spends time with his parents’ white doxipoo, Max, who never misses a chance to cuddle on the couch during visits.
Fun fact: Alexander is a big movie fan and is always up for discovering a new film recommendation.

LAURA plekavic, head scriptwriter
Laura Plekavic has been part of PawsTime since 2016 and serves as the company’s Head Scriptwriter, helping veterinary practices communicate with clients in ways that are clear, warm, and genuinely educational.
In her role, Laura creates customized on-hold messaging, social media content, and other client-facing materials designed specifically for veterinary hospitals. She works closely with practices to translate their expertise into messaging that feels approachable and supportive of the client experience.
As an animal lover who has shared her life with cats for many years, Laura understands the deep bond between pets and their people. Veterinary teams dedicate their lives to protecting that bond, and Laura weaves their expertise into a clear, authentic voice that helps keep pets healthier and families happier. That perspective shapes how she approaches every project.
She believes trust isn’t built in a single moment of care, but through every interaction a client has with a practice. Thoughtful communication helps practices strengthen those relationships long before a client walks into the exam room.
Laura brings a deep understanding of veterinary industry values and enjoys helping each practice tell its story in a voice that reflects the care they provide.
Fun fact: During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Laura discovered a passion for birdwatching. Her backyard bird cam has captured more than 30 different species, and she’s always hoping the next candid capture will add one more to her list.
